LVMH Recherche - Our activity

 

LVMH Recherche is the common international research center of all the perfumes and cosmetics brands of the LVMH group, Moët Hennessy - Louis Vuitton. LVMH Recherche was founded in 1981 as a G.I.E. (Groupement d’Intérêt Economique). Its members are Parfums Christian Dior, Guerlain and Parfums Givenchy.

 

Its laboratories are established in Saint Jean de Braye, in the Loire Valley and gather approximately 250 researchers. The LVMH Recherche teams are made of biologists, chemists, pharmacists, medical doctors, ethnobotanists, physicists, whose mission is to develop innovative cosmetic approaches based on the latest scientific discoveries in the service of beauty.

LVMH Recherche has become well known in the international scientific world for its  many  presentations  at  meetings, publications in top specialist journals  and  patent  filings.  This has enabled the cosmetic and perfume brands of the LVMH group to benefit from the latest advances in technology which are ever-recurrent in the products of its brands.

 

Collaborative  studies  with  researchers  in  the  major  universities  and research centres have enabled LVMH Recherche to develop many new techniques in  recent  years.  These have covered areas such as aging, moisturizing, pigmentation problems and makeup.

 

The expertise and the know-how of its researchers in the fields of skin biology, of formulation, as well as its discoveries of active ingredients and evaluation methods of cosmetic products (skin care, make-up, perfumes) are acknowledged worldwide.
